Skipping from spring into summer often brings with it an appreciation for the beauty of nature, and in wardrobe terms a love affair with bold patterns.
Harry Winston has combined the best of both with its latest striking additions to the Premier Feathers Collection. Nelly Saunier, a gifted master plumassière (that’s feather-worker to you and I) has applied her magic touch, using an ancestral ornamental art that involves inlaying small pieces of various coloured materials, such as wood or ethically collected real feathers, to create a marquetry of colour.
These dial-sized pieces of art are framed by a 36mm 18ct white gold case set with 66 brilliant-cut diamonds. The watches are fitted with a quartz movement and the feathered cases are teamed with a satin strap. This line first launched last year and sold out, prompting 2013’s new arrivals, which once again are an impressive example of what happens when mother nature’s finest meets horology’s best.
