I doubt Swiss watchmakers paid much attention to the British Queen’s platinum jubilee celebrations, but the country does appear to have adopted a very regal purple as a hot color this year.
TAG Heuer is the latest brand to use purple, this time for a limited edition Monaco chronograph with a sunray dial that glints with different hues of the color as its owner moves their wrist.
Everything else is standard issue Monaco: a 39mm square brushed steel case housing TAG Heuer’s modern Heuer 02 automatic movement with 80 hour power reserve.
Worn on a distinctly royal purple alligator leather strap, there will be 500 of the purple Monaco made.
It is on sale at TAG Heuer’s own boutique and website plus select retail partners for £5,950.
