Brazil’s best-loved racing legend Ayrton Senna is being honored by TAG Heuer with two limited edition Carrera timepieces.
The Formula 1 driver, who won three world championships between 1988 and 1991 before losing his life in a racing accident in 1994, was the first face of TAG Heuer’s Don’t Crack Under Pressure campaign in 1991.
The two new models, launching this fall, are versions of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, both displaying the Senna S symbol and name on the dial, bezel and caseback.
TAG Heuer’s Carrera Calibre Heuer 02 Chronograph Automatic, priced at $6,350, is a 43mm steel model with a fixed ceramic tachymeter bezel. It is worn on a steel S-shaped bracelet that Mr Senna preferred.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 02 Tourbillon Chronograph Chronometer is larger at 45mm and comes in a matte black ceramic case housing a Calibre Heuer 02T COSC-certified movement. It sells for $21,200 and is limited to 175 pieces.
