TA Henn is slashing the price of its Swiss watches by 20% as part of a £1 million sale at the Wolverhampton retailer designed to raise funds for a £100,000 refurbishment.
It is only the second sale in the 165-year history of the jewellery and watch retailer, which claims to be the city’s oldest jeweller. The first sale was held in 2007 and was also held to raise funds for a refurbishment.
The one-week sale will start tomorrow and run until October 13.
Money raised from the sale will be put towards a two-phase refurb plan. The first phase, which will be completed by November, is to refresh the window displays, while the second phase, planned to start next year will improve the interior of the shop on the city’s Princess Street.
TA Henn managing director John Henn told local newspaper Express & Star: “The second part will be done early next year. While the store is fairly modern already, we want to move with the times and give customers a more modern experience when they come into the store.”
