Fine watchmaking brand L. Leroy has launched its new Tourbillon Régulateur Squelette Art Déco piece.
Leaning on over 230 years of history, the brand has produced a watch that is crafted in 18K gold and combines the tourbillon complication with the traditional art of ‘squelletage’ gold.
The Tourbillon Régulateur Squelette Art Déco is part of L. Leroy’s OSMIOR collection, the name of which refers to an ancient metal allow made primarily of gold with a colour similar to platinum.
The skeleton nature of the watch gives the wearer a view into its heart and specifically of the decorated movement. Each self-winding tourbillon is individually numbered, while each component of the calibre is hand carved with a small hand saw.
Leroy has managed to reduce the weight of the mechanism while also increasing its hardness by producing the escapement (wheel and pallet) from pure diamond.
