Sotheby’s appoints global head of watches

Sotheby’s has appointed a worldwide head of its watch division. Sam Hines, previously international head of watches for Phillips, will work on many of the flagship sales for the company around the globe.

Based in Hong Kong, Hines will lead the international team of Sotheby’s Watch specialists and work with them on the company’s flagship sales in Geneva, New York, Hong Kong and London, while continuing to advise watch collectors.

Mr Hines brings just over twenty years of experience in both the auction and watch market. Before his time at Phillips, he was international co-head of Christie’s Watches Department.
