Luxury watch brand Shinola is preparing to open its very first hotel.
The brand has partnered with real estate firm Bedrock to create the new 129-bedroom hotel in Detroit, which is due to open its doors in December.
The new hotel will be housed within the former T.B. Rayl & Co department store and Singer sewing machine space, which have been connected with three new annexes.
Designed by New York’s Gachot Studios and Kraemer Design Group, the new hotel will be operated by Mac&Lo, with chef Andrew Carmellini of NoHo Hospitality Group in place to oversee the food and beverage outlets.
Room keys, powered by RFID chips, will be complemented by custom leather fobs with an engraving of the room number and the hotel’s street address.
Bath amenities will be made specifically for the Shinola Hotel and each suite will have a Shinola Runwell turntable, priced at $2,500.
