Seiko has introduced its thinnest-ever collection of Astron GPS Solar watches.
The 5X collection has an entirely new mechanism, which has allowed Seiko to slim the 43mm watch down to just 12.2mm deep.
The watches have GPS-controlled time and time zone adjustment, a second time zone indicator, and a perpetual calendar correct to the year 2100.
New functions also allow automatic adjustment to Daylight Saving Time and give the wearer the ability to switch the main dial instantly from home to local time and vice versa.
The solar charging watches never need their batteries replaced.
The 5X caliber will be available in December in four designs, including one limited edition of 2,000.
Prices range from £1,930 up to £2,280 in the UK; likely to translate to around $2100 to $2500 in the United States.
