Rolex named number one watch brand in Hearst’s Big Watch Survey

The Big Watch Survey 2016

Rolex and Patek Philippe are the most desirable watch brands in the world, according to Hearst UK’s 2016 Big Watch Survey.

WatchPro has been given exclusive access to the results of the unique and comprehensive poll, which was answered by over 8,000 readers of Esquire, Men’s Health, Harper’s Bazaar, Red and the Financial Times, as well as The Watch Gallery’s customer database.

Swiss horological powerhouses Rolex and Patek Philippe are the big winners in the brand-related questions in the survey, with the brands coming comfortably first and second respectively in the ‘Fifty Most Wanted’ brands, as well as the ‘Dream Watch’ question.

The picture becomes less clear-cut when broken down by gender, with Patek Philippe just pipping Rolex for the crown of Most Wanted and Dream Watch for men, and Cartier being named the Most Wanted brand for women. Rolex, however, does remain the number one Dream Watch for women, just ahead of Cartier.

Other brands that consistently appear at the top of the survey results include: Omega, IWC, Breitling, TAG Heuer and Chanel.

The results of the survey, which is the biggest of its kind in the UK, makes for fascinating reading, and WatchPro will be revealing the full exclusive data and analysis from it in its July print edition.
