RGM Watch Company brings ancient artistry skills to family of build-to-order timepieces

Pennsylvania-based RGM Watch Company has created men’s and ladies’ watches with art and handcraft as the main theme.

The RGM Artwork watches, which are built to order, use artistic techniques from all over the world including cloisonné, wood marquetry, miniature hand painting including the use of luminous paint, and the use of dials made with mother of pearl as the canvas.

Cloisonné dials are inspired by Claude Monet’s Regatta at Argenteuil while the wooden marquetry technique takes inspiration from St. Augustine, Florida’s Castillo de San Marcos.

The art on the dial is framed by a 40mm stainless steel coin-edged American made case, with a Swiss automatic movement fitted with a solid gold winding rotor made by RGM.

Ladies’ models focus on painting in miniature. For example, one example has a lotus flower portrayed in luminous pain. Another option has a floral design with a blue titmouse painted on mother of pearl.

Ladies watches are housed in a 28mm solid rose gold case or optional stainless steel case manual wind Swiss-made movements.

Men’s models are priced at $13,900 while the ladies’ pieces in gold cost $15,900.

As well as RGM making the Art and Handcraft watches to order, it is also using the same techniques in bespoke pieces designed in consultation with customers.
