Rare bout of classical watchmaking sanity breaks out at Corum

Corum is not known for its conservatism and classical watchmaking codes, but has torn up its own rule book with the La Grande Vie collection that the company unveiled this week.

The company concedes that the watch family is a significant departure from the less mainstream styles of collections like Bubble and Golden Bridge models.

“We wanted to have a collection with an elegant, classic design. It complements, following our customers’ demand, our most daring pieces,” explains Jérôme Biard, CEO of Corum.

Three La Grande Vie models have been revealed, each with shimmering sunray dials in blue, red or green housed in 42mm titanium cases that have crystal case backs offeringing a glimpse of the CO 082 – Automatic movement.

The watches, which are part of Corum’s Heritage collection, are worn on matching colored leather straps in blue, red and green.
