Georg Jensen is launching a limited Starry Night range of watches, named in honour of the original timepiece created in 1962 by designer Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, who found inspiration in nature.
The mother of pearl dial on the watch looks like a dark night sky covered in stars and slender hands move gracefully over it, "allowing the wearer to lose herself in time," according to a press release. The delicate stainless steel wristband is worn like a bracelet.
The watch is available in two models. The first, which is limited to 150 pieces, has the name Torun engraved on the dial, which is encircled by 88 diamonds. The second version, of which 88 pieces will be made, features an additional 21 diamonds set on the dial. Each watch is individually numbered.
Vivianna Starry Night Version 2 is available in Georg Jensen stores and at georgjensen.com from October 2013.
