Patek Philippe brings back Golden Ellipse dress watch on its 50th anniversary

Patek Philippe marked the 50th anniversary of its Golden Ellipse dress watch with a limited edition reissue of the black onyx-faced dress watch.

The 100 piece anniversary limited edition version is being made in platinum, and will be sold in a presentation case along with matching platinum and onyx cuff links.

A regular collection of the same watch is being made with a rose gold case.

The Golden Ellipse, hailing from 1968 is the second oldest design in the Patek Philippe family after the Calatrava that started life in 1932.

The elliptical case in 2018 is 34.5mm wide by 39.5mm high and 6.58mm thick.

It houses the Caliber 240 self-winding mechanical movement with a 22ct gold rotor.

Both the limited edition and main collection models come on alligator leather straps.
