Nomad wanders into market for Apple Watch chargers

Nomad, a Californian start up that specialises in chargers and accessories for mobile gadgets, has created its first accessories for the Apple Watch.

Apple Watch can pre-ordered from today for delivery later this month.

Nomad began life in 2012 with finance from Kickstarter, a crowd-funding service.

The company has since focused its energy into becoming a leading inventor of portable charging products for smartwatches.

“Our new Apple Watch products showcase the evolution of Nomad into a smartwatch-first accessories company. We believe the smartwatch will soon eclipse the smartphone as the number one mobile device, including telephone and camera,” the company says.

Its first Apple Watch accessory is the Stand, a desk or beside charger built from a solid piece of military grade aluminium.

It is available for pre-order at $59 today, with delivery promised in May.

Nomad’s Pod is a tabletop or portable charger that is capable of fully charging an Apple Watch four times on the move.

It weighs just 80 grams and is designed to fit in a pocket or handbag.

The Pod won’t ship until June, but can be pre-ordered today for $59.
