A new US watch brand has launched its first collection, bringing to fruition a year of research and design from an entrepreneur keen to fill a gap in the market.
Diefendorff Watches is the brainchild of James Reeves and now the new brand has unveiled its first product range, The Cornelius Collection, with each piece assembled in the US and powered by a Swiss movement.
Reeves, the sixth great grandson of Captain Henry Diefendorff, the son of Swiss immigrants, who fought in the Revolutionary War, spent the last 12 months working with some of America’s top watchmakers to bring his new design idea to life, after becoming frustrated with what was already on the market.
The Cornelius Collection features 17 big lines and 76 small lines on the front and side of the watch – making the ‘1776 Case & Bezel’ with dials in colors such as federal blue and forest green.
Leather straps made in the USA have been created using vegetable dyeing techniques.
Keen to protect the brand, Diefendorff Watches has already filed for international design patents on the timepieces.
