In line with MVMT’s consistent suitability goals and as a means of kicking off World Ocean Month, the brand has unveiled its Ocean Plastic Edition Watch.
Launching on June 3rd, the brand says the new piece sees its Minimal Sport dive watch (pictured above) transform into a sustainable nod to the ocean.
Sourced by Swiss Tide Ocean material, Ocean Plastic Edition’s case, strap, and buckle are crafted with upcycled ocean waste.
The watch also features a solar panel under its dial which allows it to be powered completely by the sun.
Again to align with sustainability efforts, this edition will come in eco-responsible boxes featuring reduced plastics, FSC paper, water-based glues and inks, and sustainable BLOOM algae-based packaging.
With a 45mm case and AS01 solar movement, the piece is also water resistant to 100 meters.
Not only is the piece sustainably built, the brand’s 1% for the Planet partnership will see 1% of all revenue from the Ocean Plastic Edition be donated to the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit that works to protect and preserve the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches.
