Mühle Glashütte has been making watches for the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service since 2002, and this year it is updating its S.A.R. Rescue-Timer watch with an entire dial coated with Super Luminova.
Lighting on sea rescue cruisers is often turned down to an absolute minimum to allow the best possible visibility at sea, so the luminous cream dial along with glow-in-the dark skeleton hands and indexes makes it as legible at night as during the day.
The latest Rescue Timer comes in a 100m water resistant 42mm steel case with screw in crown protecting its modified SW 200-1, automatic movement.
It is offered on a leather or fabric strap or steel bracelet.
The watch goes on sale this month with a retail price of $2,399 on a leather or rubber strap or $2,499 on the steel bracelet.
