Mondaine updates Classic with monochrome finishes and soft canvas strap

As custodian of the timeless Swiss Railway Clock design, Mondaine has never ventured far from the classic clean and highly legible format of that icon.

2017 is do different, and the new models show incremental updates to the classics rather than a dramatic change of course.

The new Mondaine Classic, for example, has been subtly updated with a matte-brushed or IP black plated finish available for its stainless steel cases.

There is also a new soft canvas strap with leather lining on offer. 30mm and 40mm versions are being launched priced at around £170-195.

Mondaine is also updating its SBB evo collection, with the 2017 models named evo2.

The watches, available in four case sizes ranging from 26mm to 40mm, have been refined for contemporary life with a rounded profile from the front dial to the case back.

Refined case lugs and a new functional crown give the collections a visual balance.

The biggest change is in the creation of new stainless steel mesh bracelets and a leather strap with visible black stitching on the IP black plated models. Prices again range from £170-195.
