What would happen if you took the micro-engineered sculptural horological art of MB&F and fused it with the exquisite fume dials of H. Moser & Cie?
The answer is a unique pair of timekeepers, co-created by the two independent watchmakers, that could be the pieces collectors in years to come will covet for capturing the moment in time when we all came together to face the global Covid-19 pandemic.
Moser and MB&F have always been kindred spirits, and their founders, Edouard Meylan and Maximilian Büsser, have championed the independent Swiss industry as close friends for many years and now they have produced two watches together, each in limited editions of 15 pieces in honour of it being the 15th anniversary of MB&F and the 15th anniversary of the relaunch of H. Moser & Cie.
“In addition to the beauty of the models created in tandem, two bodies of expertise and two sets of DNA have been blended and mutually enriched. The two different communities of the two Maisons have also pooled their skills in a wonderful spirit of openness and transparency. This experience leaves us with a keen sense of coming back to a sense of pleasure: the pleasure of working together and of creating,” they say.
For the Endeavour Cylindrical Tourbillon H. Moser X MB&F, the watch combines a three dimensional movement and tilted dial protected under a sapphire dome — all hallmarks of MB&F — with a blue or red fume dial from Moser. A one-minute flying tourbillon rises above the main dial through a ventricular opening at 12 o’clock.
Blue models are being sold online-only by the brands for CHF 79,000.
The LM101 MB&F X H. Moser also has a three-dimensional double hairspring movement developed in-house by MB&F and mounted mainly above the dial..
It is available for CHF 53,000 in four limited editions of 15 pieces each in stainless steel 316, with fumé dials in two tones of blue, red and green. An aqua blue edition has been made exclusively for Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons in Dubai.
