Master of the universe Citizen makes anniversary Attesa chronograph in deep space blue

Citizen is marking 35 years since the introduction of its first Attesa watch with the creation of a limited edition luxury model with a blue diamond like carbon coating.

The Attesa CC4066-69E is inspired by the deep blue universe, and comes with a bezel and middle bracelet in newly developed DLC Blue.

The beautifully smooth blue coating has all the same scratch- and scuff-resistant properties as Citizen’s black Duratect DLC surface hardening technology, which is used for the watch bracelet’s outer links and its case.

The 44.6 mm Super Titanium watch has silver-tone hands and indices, which contrast with the deep blue dial.

It is powered by advanced F950 Eco-Drive movement, which is powered by light and maintains its accuracy by receiving time signals every few seconds from GPS satellites.

Citizen Watch Company has a long history of working with the space industry, and is currently the corporate partner of HAKUTO-R, Japan’s moon exploration program operated by ispace inc.

The watchmaker’s advanced materials division is providing two parts made from its trademarked Super Titanium 2 technology for the Lunar Lander’s legs.

HAKUTO-R is is expacted to launch in November 2022 and, to mark the historic event, this new limited-edition timepiece features sparkling accents on the dial reminiscent of glittering stars in outer space.

Only 1,000 of the Attesa 35th Anniversary timepiece are being made.

They go on sale in November priced at $3,550.
