L’Epée and The Unnamed Society pull the trigger on €330,000 timekeeping revolver

When it comes to gun-slinging, it pays not to be late for high noon.

It is surprising, therefore, that a multi-function timekeeper and firearm have not broken through into the mainstream, either back in the 19th century or today.

A collaboration between The Unnamed Society and L’Epée has twigged the potential for such a fusion in the creation of The Diamond, a clock in the form of a revolver.

Telling the time is the limit of the object’s practical use, but it is drop-dead striking given its decoration with 2,518 diamonds in 21 different sizes and a total weight of 78.26 carats.

Arnaud Nicolas, CEO of L’Épée and Yohann Martinez, Director Art in Time Monaco.

Specialist Geneva jeweler Salanitro spent 140 hours on fabrication and more than 300 hours on gem setting to complete the artwork, which is on display now at the Art in Time Gallery in Monaco.

It is priced at €330,000.
