Leather watch strap maker bought by LVMH

LVMH has acquired leather watch strap maker Les Tanneries Roux in a move that will further its plans to consolidate control of key supply chains.

Les Tanneries Roux is a general leather tannery based in France. The business was set up in 1803 and creates a variety of leather goods for fashion companies, interior design companies, as well as producing high-quality watch straps.

While the acquisition of the tannery will no doubt be used to push its luxury leather goods division further forward, the luxury goods group could also make use of the acquisition through its watch brands, which include TAG Heuer, Chaumet, Christian Dior, Zenith and Hublot.
