Larry Pettinelli, Patek Philippe’s long-standing president in the United States has left the company.

Mr Pettinelli, who has been with the company for more than 30 years — 11 years as president — is leaving to “embark on the next phase of his career”.

He is replaced by Lisa Jones, who has been promoted from vice-president to take the top job. The executive, who oversaw all sales and marketing during Mr Pettinelli’s tenure, is the first female president at Henri Stern Watch Agency (HSWA), the formal name for Patek Philippe’s distributor in the US.

Hank Edelman, chairman of the board at HSWA, and Thierry Stern, Patek Philippe’s president, say Ms Jones is ideally suited to take the company forward in the United States. “With her passion for our brand and her understanding of the American market, Lisa Jones is the right person to lead the company and sustain the quality and innovation that has defined us all these years,” the executives state in a co-signed letter to authorized dealers.

“Lisa has excelled at every step during her career here, developing a well-earned reputation as a go-to person among our retail partners and customers,” the letter continues.

“Lisa’s passion for the brand is contagious and goes to the very core of what we are about as a company. Lisa has also demonstrated strong leadership skills and has emerged as an authentic voice in the organization – she embraces change, values innovation, fosters collaboration, and recognizes that building a strong team and a positive culture is as valuable as the timepieces we manufacture. It is this combination of respect and admiration from both our customers and our team,” the letter continued, “that make[s] Lisa exactly the right person to take the HSWA to the next level in an evolving and challenging environment.”

“I look forward to continuing to strengthen the company’s culture of innovation,” said Jones in a statement. “Having spent close to two decades developing strong commercial relationships within the market, I am confident the future and values of the Henri Stern Watch Agency will remain unrivaled.”
