Distributor Artime has appointed Kevin Jones as sole agent for its Swiss watch brand a.b.art.
Jones, who is a Yorkshire committee member of the National Association of Goldsmiths, joins Artime from Zeon, where he was field sales manager. He has previously worked at Rotary, I.C.E Diamonds, Seiko and Goldsmiths, and also ran his own shop in Brighouse.
Jones has been tasked with charging into new territory with the brand, with a particular focus on major shopping centres. He will also service a.b.art’s existing retailers and will perform a similar role for Artime’s Swiss jewellery brand Step.
He said: “This is just the type of challenge I relish. These brands are superb and more within the trade need to take note and recognise their potential. We all need something different in the difficult days and this could just be the stimulus shops are looking for.”
The a.b.art watch brand has been operating in the UK under Artime for the past seven years.
Artime managing director David Shoesmith said: “This is a tremendous opportunity for both our brands, and with Kevin’s expertise and experience, together with his great enthusiasm, we are confident we are entering a new era for a.b.art. This is just the boost we need to bring them to the notice of major players, and just what the sector needs to recognise really stylish and unique pieces.”
A.b.art will be exhibiting at the London Watch Show on July 2 and 3 at Freemasons Hall.
