Junghans revives classic Max Bill design for 2017

German brand Junghans has launched its renowned Max Bill collection for 2017, marrying traditional watch making with its signature geometric design.

The Max Bill Edition 2017 is available in two variants – offering a lined index dial or a dial featuring the Max Bill typography with Arabic numbers for the hour markers.

Both versions are equipped with a special strap featuring the same colours used in the original (Variation 1) Max Bill design.

Max Bill was a Swiss architect, artist, painter, typeface designer, industrial designer and graphic designer. He created the first wristwatches for Junghans in 1961.

Luminous markers and points at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, and a double point at 12 o’clock allow for good readability, even in darkness. Max Bill’s consistency in design is also reflected in the Junghans lettering on the dial, as the font is identical to that of the numerals.
