Apple is rumoured to be working with Intel to add a watch to its offer.
According to a report on Chinese website Tech 163 the technology giant is expected to announce the product in the first half of 2013.
The report claims that sources from within the group’s supply chain have described the watch as having a 1.5 inch OLED screen with indium tin oxide-coated (ITO) glass and will run Apple’s iOS software.
The watch is believed to be equipped with Bluetooth technology that would allow it to interact with other Apple devices such as iPads, iPhones, iPods and Apple TV, and it has been reported that wearers will be able to use the watch to answer phone calls.
There are other smart watches on the market, including designs from major companies such as Sony, but a single product has yet to capture the imagine of shoppers in the way that an Apple product might.
