IN PICTURES: Watches of Switzerland lit up for the holidays with Olivia Steele installations

Visitors to Watches of Switzerland stores over the holiday season may have noticed the juxtaposition of modern art installations by Olivia Steele alongside classic timepieces developed over several centuries.

The Olivia Steele art remains on display until mid-February at Watches of Switzerland stores in SoHo and Hudson Yards in New York, Encore in Boston, and the Wynn resort in Las Vegas.

When the works are removed, they will be auctioned for charity.

Ms Steele named the neon light artworks collectively as Here for a good time.

“As I became familiar with Watches of Switzerland, the synergies in our philosophy became evident,” Ms Steele says. “I find art to be a very practical tool to navigate this thing called life and the same can be said for a watch. Intricate, complex, and beautiful by design but with a simple purpose based on practicality. I am thrilled to be partnering with Watches of Switzerland and creating art that represents our shared trailblazing spirit.”

David Hurley, EVP of The Watches of Switzerland Group in the US, adds: “At Watches of Switzerland we strive to be disruptive game changers and that is exactly what Olivia Steele embodies. Olivia’s refreshing irreverence for the status quo perfectly aligns with the Watches of Switzerland ethos and we are thrilled to have her bring her distinct and recognizable artistry to our holiday campaign.”
