Hublot presents Big Bang Tourbillon automatic encrusted in rainbow-colored gems

Rainbows became a symbol of support for healthcare professionals and care for each during the pandemic, and a nod towards a brighter future, so it is little wonder that the watchmaking industry has embraced the theme.

Hublot, always been a pioneer with materials and bold colors, has taken the rainbow trend and dialed it up to 11 with a Big Bang Integral Tourbillon set with 36 carats of multi-colored gems.

There are two models made from 18ct rose or white gold with bezels, crowns and integrated bracelets adorned with 484 baguette-cut red rubies, fuchsia pink sapphires, ultraviolet amethysts, topaz in Klein blue, leaf green tsavorites, lemon yellow sapphires and bright orange sapphires.

The 43mm watches cost $790,000 each, which seems fair given the materials, expertise and 1,200 hours of work that goes into selecting, cutting and setting the stones for every piece.

It is more than a fine jewellery piece and has serious horological value thanks to its Calibre Hublot HUB6035 automatic tourbillon manufacture movement with three day power reserve.
