Hublot presented a fashion show in partnership with Manchester United in Shanghai last week called Art of Fusion, days after it opened its second Shanghai store with a little help from Sir Alex Ferguson.
A group of footballing stars including Rio Ferdinand, Javier Hernandez and Shinji Kagawa participated in the event along with team manager Ferguson. They took to the catwalk to showcase a collection of Hublot timepieces.
After the fashion show Ferguson and Hublot’s brand director in China, Loic Biver, presided over a live charity auction from which the proceeds will benefit the United for UNICEF partnership.
Hublot has created a special edition timepiece for the auction – a replica of those manufactured for the Manchester United squad, made with Ferguson’s signature engraved on the reverse.
The third edition of Hublot’s official Manchester United timepiece, the King Power Red Devil, incorporates real blades of grass from the hallowed turf of the Old Trafford pitch, embedded in each index on its dial.
Ferguson said: "We are happy to be in China and to be able to bring such a fantastic fashion and charity event to Shanghai. Money raised for the United for UNICEF partnership is invaluable in protecting the lives of young people across the world.”
