The founders of Elliot Brown, Ian Elliot and Alex Brown, have made it into the WatchPro Hot 100 for the past two years in recognition of the success for the fledgling British watch brand. But the company did not create this success alone. It has benefited from an army of retailers and suppliers supporting the company, not least Broad Brand Agencies and the company’s founder Ian Broad.
The national sales agency specialises in quality watch and jewellery brands, and has helped Elliot Brown watches into more than 50 independent jewellers and watch shops, plus multiples Goldsmiths and Beaverbrooks and several online stores. “We’ve had great success with a number of brands that we work with but I’d say it was what we’ve achieved this past year on behalf of Elliot Brown watches that is the single biggest success, Ian says.
Broad Brand Agencies was created as a result of Ian’s success with Elliot Brown, and has grown to the point where he has been able to offer a full time job to his son. “My family are my top priority. As my best friend and wife of 30 years, Ruth, and my son Elliot work with me in the business, home and work kind of blend into one. We love that we can work together,” he describes.
Besides watches and family, Ian’s other passions are cycling and motor cars, and he likes nothing more than retreating to his garage/man cave and breaking out his socket set. “I’m a fan of home motor mechanics and modifying cars after building a Westfield kit car a few years ago,” he tells us.
