An industry academy has launched a series of one-day courses designed to give watch and jewellery retailers the skills needed to maximise sales.
Holts Academy of Jewellery launched its Workforce Development Programmes at the Watch & Jewellery Birmingham 2014 trade show this week.
Based on the latest industry research and five years experience of working with retailers large and small throughout the UK, the programme is made up of 40 one-day modules which can be tailored to the specific needs of individual businesses.
“We are delighted to be rolling out our unique industry recognised and endorsed training that has benefitted large multi-national retailers such as TKMaxx as well as independent retailers over the past few months, demonstrating improved sales and customer service. With prices as low as £107 per person per day, the courses offer an affordable, tailored training solution and complete flexibility on delivery location " says Lee Lucas, CEO & Principal of Holts Academy
"The full programme can also result in learners achieving our exclusive Retail Jewellery Diploma– which adds another level of rigour, delivers amazing value for money and gives employees an independently accredited qualification – an added benefit to help with staff recruitment and loyalty “.
Senior Retail and Enterprise Lecturer Chrissie Bolger launched the course with an introductory discount of 15% for all bookings made in February.
Hatton Garden based Holts believes in training delivered in person and skills adopted through practice with immediate feedback from tutors and peers. The one day modules include Visual Merchandising, Stock, Security and Loss Prevention, Valuation, Product Knowledge, Sales and Sale Maximisation, Customer Services and Complaints Resolution and Buying, Business and Design among others.
A Secret Shopper service is also offered alongside the training to monitor how it is being put into practice or to help employers identify pressing training needs.
