It is a sign of how significant Hodinkee’s ecommerce store has become that when it collaborates on a new limited edition with a prestige watch brand, they do not just make a handful of pieces, they make hundreds.
The latest piece to go on sale exclusively at Hodinkee Shop is an Oris Divers Sixty-Five Caliber 400, with a meaty production run of 400 priced at $3,800.
That’s over $1.5 million in potential revenue.
The watch uses Oris’s in house caliber 400 in a trim 38m case, the first time it has been used in a steel Divers Sixty-Five.
The movement was a significant breakthrough for Oris when it launched last year with a five-day power reserve and build quality enabling a 10-year service interval and decade-long warranty.
The diminutive dive watch has a matte greyish green dial and lighter green lume filled oversized markers.
It is all about legibility and doesn’t even have a date display cluttering the dial.
Hodinkee is selling it on an integrated steel bracelet.
