Since the brand’s arrival in 2013 (it’s easy to forget that it’s still a relative baby in the horological universe), Elliot Brown has grown steadily in every way imaginable – more retailers, greater sales and new launches.

This year has been another solid step in the right direction, with the introduction of its first mechanical watch, the Tyneham Automatic.

Aesthetically the Tyneham fits naturally into the Elliot Brown range, with the notable exception of the distinctive power reserve indicator at 1 o’clock.

In accordance with the brand’s dedication to producing watches suitable for wearing both in the office and while crawling through mud at the weekend, their latest offering is protected by a 360° shock-proofing system inside a 316L case fitted with sapphire glass.

The Miyota movement inside might not satisfy some purists but for less than £1,000 this watch oozes commercial appeal and value for money.
