HIGHLY COMMENDED: Showstopper of the Year, Raymond Weil Maestro Beatles

Show stoppers come in many guises, and the Raymond Weil Maestro Beatles is more understated than most.

It was the work that went in behind the scenes, which made the watch possible, that we most admire.

Putting The Beatles name to anything requires myriad agreements from its owners, and that’s before the design was finalised.

2016 is Raymond Weil’s 40th anniversary, and it marked the occasion with the creation of the Maestro Beatles, limited to just 3000 pieces selling for £975.

The watch features a mechanical, self-winding movement inside a 39.5mm stainless steel case.

The name of The Beatles 13 albums decorate the dial with McCartney, Lennon, Harrison and Starr themselves depicted in their Help pose at the four o’clock position.

It also features The Beatles official logo and a date window at the three o’clock.

The logo is also present on the smoked sapphire crystal caseback with engraved limited edition number.

The launch created a major buzz at Baselworld, and was used to raise the profile of Raymond Weil throughout the year.

The programme was so successful it led to Raymond Weil winning the Marketing Team of the Year at the 2016 WatchPro Awards.
