Swatch-owned Certina has organised its portfolio into four lines this year: Urban, Heritage, Aqua and Sport.
The Swiss business has always been best-known as a sports watch maker, and it is the category that houses its best piece this year, the DS Podium Chronograph 1/100 sec.
The well-loved line has been given a new ETA Precidrive quartz movement for 2016 that brings greater precision to the 44mm timepiece.
There are also a number of fresh design options including a model with a PVD all-black-case on a brown leather strap stitched in contrasting anthracite. The rose gold detailing on the watch face give it an expensive aesthetic.
The motor sport heritage for which Certina is famous makes the steel bracelet or rubber strap options feel like strong variations. Prices range from £375-495.
