Hermès joins growing exhibitor list at 2018 SIHH exhibition

SIHH in Geneva is the biggest event of the year supported by FHH. The organization also supports Miami Watches and Wonders.

The 28th Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), will run from January 15-19 next year.

The exhibition, home to Richemont maison’s annual unveiling of their watch collections for the year, is being expanded in 2018 to make room for  the  arrival of Hermès timepieces.

The Carré des Horlogers, a showcase of independent Swiss watchmakers, is set to DeWitt, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud and Romain Gauthier.

These new arrivals bring the total number of  exhibitors  to 34, with 18 maisons and 16 Carré des Horlogers brands.

In the past few years, a vibrant week of watchmakers introducing new models has grown up in the centre of Geneva. In 2017, Richemont rival LVMH coat-tailed on the pulling power of SIHH, with a major event hosted on a boat on Lake Geneva.

Other luxury Swiss watchmakers hold presentations in city centre hotels.

Although SIHH continues to expand, its organiser says there is a limit to how large it will grow. “There is no intention of extending SIHH indefinitely. It will grow within carefully measured limits so as to preserve the values of excellence that have forged its reputation.  It must  also meet the expectations of its exhibitors and clients, both now and in the future,” commented SIHH managing director, Fabienne  Lupo.

A public day, which was introduced this year, will take place again in 2018.
