Hearst confirmed as sponsor of WatchPro Awards 2018

Publishing and media group, Hearst, has been confirmed as a Category Sponsor at this year’s WatchPro Awards.

The news comes a few months after it was announced that Hearst had acquired luxury consumer watch magazine QP and luxury watch show SalonQP from Telegraph Media Group.

Hearst will be the official sponsor of the Luxury Watch Brand of the Year category, and Alun Williams, the company’s managing director of Men’s Lifestyle, told WatchPro how excited he is with the partnership.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the WatchPro Awards again, particularly following our acquisition of Salon QP and QP magazine earlier this year. Watches are a hugely important pillar of our business at Hearst, both in terms of consumer interest and our commercial partnerships, and the WatchPro Awards affords us the perfect platform to demonstrate our support of the watch industry.

“The ceremony is a great evening and a fantastic opportunity to bring everyone together in the same room. The Awards celebrate all the vitally important work and talent that makes the industry flourish, so it’s incredibly important for us to come together to recognise and celebrate the year’s successes.”

“It will be a brilliant opportunity to come together to celebrate and look back on what has been a very exciting year.”

Williams hopes to build on what he describes as very successful first half of the year, with the sponsorship of the WatchPro Awards and the execution of this year’s SalonQP event in November being key. “We are seeing unprecedented growth in our events portfolio, with attendance level doubling last year, so the acquisition of Salon QP made perfect sense”, said Williams.

“We are relaunching Salon QP as the UK’s ultimate fine watch and luxury lifestyle event and we have some exciting plans and content in place to deliver this. In addition to Salon QP’s loyal audience, we will be inviting along our high-net-worth luxury audiences from our Esquire, Bazaar and Town & Country brands, so we are confident of a record attendance at the Saatchi Gallery this November.”

The WatchPro Awards takes place on 6 November and tickets can be purchased HERE.

SalonQP will again take place at the spectacular Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea on 22-24 November.
