Govberg Watches and Watchbox donate 10% of profits to support healthcare workers

Govberg Watches and its pre-owned watch specialist business Watchbox will donate 10% of all profits from ecommerce sales for the next fortnight to the Jefferson COVID-19 Better Together Fund, which supports the teams working at Jefferson Health. Its flagship hospital is Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, home of the watch businesses.

Local Philadelphia businesses Boyds Philadelphia and Di Bruno Bros are also supporting the initiative.

Jefferson’s Covid-19 Better Together Fund provides emergency funding to help staff and students facing financial hardship during the pandemic; helps pay for transport to and from work; supports the team with counseling and  mental health services; provides personal protective equipment and rapid testing for the virus; and subsidizes care for elderly relatives or children.

From April 6 to 20 Govberg Watches Watchbox, any customer buying from www.govbergwatches.com or www.thewatchbox.com will be making a contribution to supporting the healthcare workers in Philadelphia. Jefferson will match 100% of these contributions.

Jefferson has already raised $2.3 million for the fund, with a target of $2.5 million.

Danny Govberg, chairman, and Justin Reis, CEO of Govberg Watches and Watchbox also encourage people to donate directly at Jefferson.edu/COVIDfunding.

“Our thoughts remain with those affected by this global pandemic and we look forward to an eventual return to normalcy. Until then, please take care of yourself and your families,” they urge.
