German watch brand hires UK sales head to run retail channel


Nomos Glashütte is expanding its presence in the UK with the appointment of a dedicated sales consultant to manage its business locally.

The German watch maker has appointed Rob Nudds as its “man on the ground”, having gained experience with a number of top industry brands. Following an apprenticeship with the Swatch Group, Nudds took in spells at Omega, Longines, Blancpain and Bremont prior to arriving at Nomos.

The company says that the UK is one of its most important markets and Nudd, who specialises in mechanical watches, will lead its sales activities with retail partners. His role will involve providing support and training, as well as growing its channel network.

“This German watchmaking company is going from strength to strength, and my role is to ensure that this is reflected in the UK market as well,” said Nudds.

Nomos Glashütte is currently represented by around 20 jewellers countrywide including Wempe, Watches of Switzerland and Fraser Hart.

The company currently has more than 500 points of sale worldwide and has grown its turnover by 30% over the past year.
