A film called The Watchmakers Apprentice featuring the last interviews with George Daniels, is set to be previewed at Salon QP.
The Watchmakers Apprentice is a documentary focused on Daniels’ work and his protégé Roger W. Smith who is continuing to create timepieces in Daniels’ name, following his death in October 2011.
The film features the last interview conducted with Daniels, and behind-the-scenes access to 18 months in the life of the watchmaker and his workshop, with glimpses of his homelife and vintage car collection.
The Watchmaker’s Apprentice was made by Dam Productions and is narrated by British actor John Rhys-Davies. The documentary includes interviews with George Daniels and Roger Smith as well as their friends, family members and colleagues.
The Salon QP preview will be a ticketed event and with an introduction by Roger Smith.
