Garmin makes matte black stealth edition of its MARQ smart tool watch

Garmin MARQ-Commander

Garmin has added a stealthy matte black version to its line-up of MARQ smart tool watches.

It has been given the punchy name of the MARQ Commander.

The watch not only looks like a companion piece for a Stealth fighter bomber pilot, it has handy additional tools for anybody operating behind enemy lines including a purpose-built domed sapphire lens with an always-on display, optimized for night vision goggle compatibility.

It has a brand-new kill switch function that, when activated, clears the user memory. And users can enable stealth mode, which stops storing and sharing GPS position and disables wireless connectivity and communication.

It is pre-loaded with topographic mapping and advanced navigation features including a barometric altimeter, compass and multiple Global Navigation Satellite Systems support and has dual-format GPS coordinates and a UTC bezel.

Other features include a unique dual-position mode, which simultaneously displays two sets of coordinate systems on a single data screen, Jumpmaster, tactical activity profiles and waypoint projection.

The watch goes sale today, October 1, for $1,950.
