Casio’s G-Shock has joined the party of long-standing collaborator New Era, which is celebrating its centenary year in 2020.
New Era has been making headwear since 1920, most notably for as the official supplier of on-field caps for Major League Baseball and the National Football League.
G-Shock has made a limited edition golden GM110NE-1A in conjunction with New Era to mark the centenary.
It has a gold New Era flag at 3 o’clock and an engraved gold IP case back with the inscriptions “100,” 1920-2020,” which pays homage to New Era’s history.
Like other G-Shock GM110 models, the limited edition has a dark gray metal-forged and polished IP bezel with gold lettering matching a gold and black analog-digital dial.
It is sold with interchangeable straps: a black cloth band lined with green on the underside — a nod to the sought after 59FIFTY cap — and a gold-specked black urethane band with a branded stainless-steel keeper in gold.
Features include five alarms, world time zones, a 1/100th second stopwatch, countdown timer and calendar, all in the usual shock-, magnetic- and 200 meter water-resistant package.
It goes on sale in November for $340.
