G-Shock gets slimmer and lighter with its latest MT-G

G-Shock’s 20th anniversary for its MT-G series has led to a slew of fresh styles and, just in time for the Holiday Season, the Japanese watchmaker has put its popular upmarket watch on a diet.

The Slimline MT-G (MTG-B1000XBD and B1000XB) is just as strong and striking as its siblings, but by using layers of red colored glass fibre and carbon fibre, it has been made less bulky on the wrist.

The midsize watch has smartphone connectivity and solar-powered radio control.

It is priced at $1,100 and comes with a layered stainless steel and composite band made with fine resin parts.

The solar-powered watch is water resistant to 200 meters and ensures its accuracy by receiving updates to its time from an atomic time calibration network.
