Casio G-Shock has teamed up with snowboarding brand Burton Snowboards to create a custom timepiece using the G-Shock Rangeman.
It is the second time that the two companies have collaborated, having previous worked together to produce the Limited Edition GDF100BTN-1.
The latest model is called the limited edition G-Shock x Burton GW9400BTJ Rangeman, and has been designed to withstand harsh environments without looking out of place on the wrist when off the slope.
As a key motif for both companies, camouflage has been incorporated into the design in winter shades of light blue and stark white on the watch band.
Chief creative office for Burton Snowboards, Greg Dacyshyn, speaks about the inspiration behind the collaborative piece: “I was super excited to work with G-Shock on another watch collaboration, and for this round the theme was ‘survival in any situation.’ Following G-Shock’s ‘Absolute Toughness’ brand ethos, all the amazing technical features were developed to perform in the harshest environments, including a sensor button and other function indicators on the black dial highlighted in safety orange, for high visibility against a snow conditions background."
The GW9400BTJ Rangeman, which will retail at £430, comes with V3 triple sensor technology, allowing for altimeter, compass and barometer/thermometer readings. Additional features include: sunrise and sunset data, a dedicated sensor button, full auto LED light, world time 31 time zones and stopwatch and countdown timer.
