Swiss start-up watch brand Brüggler Watches have launched an online platform offering bespoke, Swiss-made chronographs with more final options than there are people on Earth.
Wife and husband team Katarina and Michael Brüggler created the core design – a sleek, classic 40mm chronograph with quartz and mechanical options – and are working with a Swiss watch company in Les Breuleux to hand assemble customer’s final designs with a turnaround of between three to six weeks from the point of order.
The website platform allows customers to design their watch with multiple options under each of the 14 chapters, such as case finish, dial colour, gem setting and lume colour. The company has calculated that the bespoke tool offers a total of 258 nonillion final designs, that’s 258 with 54 zeros. Each dial is emblazoned with the slogan Swiss Made to Measure.
WatchPro was the first publication in the world to be treated to a preview of Brüggler Watches‘ new fully customisable chronographs in London this morning. The flexibility of the central case design means that final designs are able to run the gamut from elegant and classic to bold and contemporary.
The Brüggler’s are keen watch collectors, but began working on the business two years ago to create a luxury, bespoke handmade product that could be designed online but assembled using traditional age-old techniques.
The website will also offer a core collection of limited edition designs, but only ever produced in single-figure runs to maintain exclusivity. The watches range in price from £2,800 to £5,600.
