EXCLUSIVE: Audemars Piguet partners with Material Good to open East Hampton boutique

Material Good co-founders Rob Ronen and Michael Herman.

New York luxury watch destination Material Good will open a monobrand Audemars Piguet store in East Hampton, Long Island, in summer this year.

Rob Ronen, co-founder of Material Good, told WatchPro today that the boutique will be a ground floor retail space that will have the look and feel of a traditional Audemars Piguet store, but with the added flair and experiential approach of Material Good.

“We are taking elements of our concept and fusing it with the Audemars Piguet approach to come up with something unique in East Hampton. We hope to be open before the Fourth of July holiday,” Mr Ronen said.

Material Good is described by Mr Ronen as an “anti-store” experience. The company, which was created three years ago with business partner and master jeweler Michael Herman, is located on the second floor of a downtown Manhattan street in Soho.

The space is designed like a luxury and contemporary loft apartment, and the team there will be as happy mixing a cocktail for customers as they will be describing the complications of the latest Royal Oak timepiece. The business is an authorized dealer of Audemars Piguet.

  1. Here’s a response. Why does Audemars Piguet let Ronen rape all of the AP boutiques for the hard to find prize watches and leave nothing accessible for AP customers?
