Bulgari staged the launch of a special edition of its Aluminium watch yesterday with the help of producer, DJ & fashion designer, Steve Aoki, who gave his name and creative input to its design.

Aluminium was introduced last year as a more youthful collection with styling inspired by Italian Riviera life in the 1960s.

The Bulgari Aluminium Steve Aoki special edition’s dial is fully coated with Superluminova, a throwback to the days when clubbers would bring glow sticks to wear and wave in the air.

A sea of sweaty bodies punching the night air, all wearing a Bulgari Aluminium Steve Aoki watch, would have a similar effect.

Its white dial also carries Mr Aoki’s iconic dead eyes signature.

“Bulgari creations speak the language of the Mediterranean: warmth, conviviality, colours and joie de vivre,” Bulgari says. “Steve Aoki expresses the very same fundamentals. His performances light up the night with a unique glow composed of sounds, rhythms and movement.”

Bulgari’s 3-hander with date Aluminium Steve Aoki uses an automatic B77 movement with 42 hour power reserve in its 40mm case with black rubber bezel.

It is worn on a rubber bracelet with aluminium links and is on sale now for $3,050.
