de Grisogono’s new Mayfair flagship will lead the way

de Grisogono has opened a flagship boutique on New Bond Street, giving the masters of flamboyant jewellery and watches a vastly increased retail footprint in London’s Mayfair.

The 85sq m boutique is located next door to de Grisogono’s former New Bond Street premises in a store previously occupied by Danish design house Georg Jensen.

A new interiors concept, created by de Grisogono founder Fawaz Gruosi in collaboration with London-based David Collins Studio, has also been unveiled at the boutique which will now be used as the template for all future de Grisogono openings globally.

The three rooms of the store each have a specific purpose; the Corte showcases a collection of jewellery personally chosen by Fawaz Gruosi.  The room has been realised in amythest tones and shimmering white, with panels of amythest dyed shagreen referencing the material’s use by de Grisogono. Polished dark walnut vitrines showcase the jewellery.

The Stanza Del Tempo celebrates the brand’s watch collections. The room is dark and dramatic in contrast with the other spaces. Wall-mounted, cantilevered vitrines in antique brass sit against wood veneer marquetry walls.

The Grand Sala is lined in pistachio-coloured silk. The drawing room has an intentionalyl residential feel and inviting guests into the private world of the brand.

Lewis Taylor, design director at David Collins Studio, said: “de Grisogono stands apart from its contemporaries with its innovative jewellery art-pieces. The creative use of volume, density, interlacing and chiaroscuro are some of the reoccurring characteristics that Fawaz Gruosi uses in his work.  We worked with Fawaz Gruosi to translate these concepts into interior architectural elements without merely replicating the jewellery pieces, but creating a space that synergises and showcases them.”
