Corum appeals to casual navigators with modernized Admiral watches

0

Corum’s Admiral watch collection can be overly literal when it comes to its connection to the maritime world.

For 2022, the brand is being more subtle about the association, eschewing colorful naval flags and other nautical accouterments in favor of elegant steel or bi-color steel and gold watches with black or blue textured dials in what Corum calls its three-dimensional Grenadier fendu motif, which was designed in house in 2019.

The nautical signal flags are still present, but are now etched in white as subtle hour markers.

The less obvious maritime decoration is deliberate as Corum looks to appeal to “contemporary casual navigators and lovers of the sea”.

There are six versions of the watch, which adopts the Grenadier fendu style dial for the first time in 42mm models.

Mediterranean sea blue or midnight black dials are used for three models each: steel on steel (CHF 4,400); steel case with color coordinated alligator leather strap and dial (CHF 4,200); and steel case with 18ct rose gold bezel and crown and color-coordinated leather strap and dial (CHF 7,200).
