Christopher Ward and Morgan Motor Company co-design their fifth chronograph in three years

Christopher Ward and Morgan Motor Company have collaborated on a fifth timepiece, the C3 Morgan Chronograph.

The two companies, both based in Britain, have been working together for three years producing watches that take design cues of the classical and retro Morgan cars, and reflecting the thrill of driving the historic vehicles.

America is the second largest market in the world for the watchmaker.

Mike France, co-founder at Christopher Ward, says: “Since announcing our partnership with Morgan Motor Company back in November 2016, for each new launch we have looked to showcase our shared values of British design and craftsmanship. With this launch, Christopher Ward enthusiasts will instantly recognise the distinctively brushed and polished case of our Malvern dress collection, however, we have then stepped away from our usual aesthetic and replaced the Christopher Ward logo on the vintage silver-white dial with Morgan’s distinctive ‘wings’.”

The C3 Morgan Chronograph is based on the vintage-themed C3 Grand Tourer, a descendent of Christopher Ward’s first quartz watch, 2005’s C3 Malvern Chronograph.

The 39mm steel-cased 2018 model uses a Swiss-made Ronda 5021.D powering small second, 1/10th and 30-minute counters.

It is sold online-only with a Piccari leather strap in camel, tan or black priced at $515.
